Chelagat is the founder of Misiko Tax Services LLC, established in 2018. She brings more than 12 years of experience in public accounting, serving clients across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, hospitality, professional services, and real estate. Her expertise spans partnership, corporate, and individual taxation, with a strong commitment to accuracy, strategy, and personalized guidance.
Chelagat holds a master’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from SUNY Polytechnic Institute, as well as an undergraduate degree in Education from Kenya. In addition to her professional practice, she has taught undergraduate and graduate accounting courses at Eastern Connecticut State University and Manchester Community College, reflecting her dedication to developing the next generation of accounting professionals.
She is an active member of both the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Her community involvement includes serving on the Community Accounting Services Committee overseeing the VITA program and volunteering at the annual financial literacy fair at Manchester Community College. She also participates in several CTCPA committees, deepening her engagement with the profession.
Outside of work, Chelagat enjoys traveling with her daughter, Ivy, and spending time with the newest additions to their family—two kittens, Keke and Tati.
